Urban mobility is undergoing a transformation, with Infinite Machine’s latest offering, the Olto electric bike, embodying a blend of style, performance, and practicality in city settings. Tailored for urbanites seeking a balance of functionality and aesthetics, the Olto stands out in the electric bike market, aligning with the shift towards cleaner and more efficient transportation solutions.
Priced at $3,495 and set for release in fall 2025, the Olto electric bike presents a modern reinterpretation of urban two-wheeled travel, seamlessly integrating moped-like comfort with the legalities of an e-bike, ensuring a smooth ride in bike lanes while also offering robust off-road capabilities. The design, crafted from extruded aluminum and steel, prioritizes durability and weather resistance, featuring a futuristic frame that supports outdoor parking.
With a focus on versatility, the Olto offers customization options through accessories like a child seat, rear rack, or basket, adapting effortlessly to varying daily requirements. Noteworthy features include a magnetic foldable pedal system at the front that transitions into footrests for throttle-powered movement, enabling true pedal-assist functionality for extended range and riding flexibility. The bike’s design includes hidden passenger handles and rear foot pegs for comfortable two-person riding.
The Olto electric bike is powered by a 750 W rear hub motor, capable of reaching a peak output of 2 kW, with speed limitations set at 20 mph in bike lane mode and 33 mph off-road. Equipped with a dual-suspension chassis and hydraulic disc brakes, the bike ensures a stable and secure ride across diverse terrains. The lithium-ion battery pack, certified by UL, can be easily swapped under the seat, providing a range of approximately 40 miles per charge with the optional “Super Charger.”
Enhancing the rider experience, the Olto features a phone-as-key system enabled by an app and NFC technology, offering convenient tap-to-unlock and auto-unlock functionalities. The bike integrates advanced security measures such as GPS tracking, LTE connectivity, and an audible alarm system along with a backup battery for uninterrupted protection. The cockpit boasts a user-friendly interface with a 4.3″ LCD panel for ride data display and a phone mount for navigation and system control.
With a weight of 176 lb, the Olto may pose challenges for stairs, but its design aims to reduce the need for frequent indoor transport. The bike’s integrated lights, horn, turn signals, and automatic on/off feature enhance visibility and safety in urban environments. Infinite Machine, supported by a16z and angel investors, drew insights from its P1 scooter to develop the Olto, with plans to establish spare parts availability and service networks before the official launch.
