Brompton has unveiled its latest innovation in the form of the “lightest ever” folding electric bike, weighing just 11.2kg without the battery and 14.1kg with it. This groundbreaking release is set to transform city commuting with its portability and impressive range of up to 90km on a single charge.
Designed with urban environments in mind, the new Brompton Electric T Line features a Start Assist Mode to provide an initial power boost for easier acceleration, especially useful at junctions or on inclines. Additionally, the Walk Assist Mode engages the motor to facilitate pushing the bike at low speeds.
The Electric T Line incorporates Brompton’s proprietary e-Motiq system, comprising a custom rear hub motor, torque sensor, and a detachable 345Wh battery. This system, initially introduced in the G Line Electric model, has been well-received and is now integrated into the Electric T Line, C Line, and P Line models.
With a handlebar control for lights and electric assistance levels, the Electric T Line offers riders a personalized experience, adapting to their riding habits over time. The bike’s intuitive design aims to enhance the cycling experience, providing updated ride data and battery information based on individual usage patterns.
Handcrafted at Brompton’s factory in London, England, the Electric T Line exemplifies the brand’s commitment to quality and innovation. Although the bike comes with a substantial price tag starting at £2,999 in the UK, its superior engineering and advanced features justify the investment for avid cyclists and urban commuters.
The new Brompton Electric range, including the Electric T Line, will be available for pre-order in Europe from October 21, with US pre-orders to follow. While European customers can expect general sales to commence on October 28, US consumers will have to wait until January 27, 2026, to get their hands on these cutting-edge electric bikes.
As the demand for sustainable and efficient transportation solutions grows, the introduction of the Brompton Electric T Line marks a significant milestone in the evolution of urban mobility. With its lightweight design, intelligent features, and exceptional performance, this folding electric bike is poised to revolutionize city commuting and set new standards in the e-bike industry.
