Riders must also adhere to road rules applicable to motor vehicles and cyclists, including giving way, obeying traffic lights, signs, and speed limits. E-scooter users are required to wear helmets at all times, with fines imposed for non-compliance.
While operating an e-scooter, using a mobile phone is prohibited, and fines can be issued for violations. Riders do not need a driver’s license to operate e-scooters as part of the trial, but breaching road rules can affect their existing driver’s license status.
Alcohol consumption is regulated for e-scooter riders, with strict Blood Alcohol Concentration limits in place. Violations can result in fines, disqualification from driving, and mandatory behavior change programs.
Users must be at least 16 years old to ride an e-scooter, and riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. Safety equipment, such as helmets, must be worn, and e-scooters should not exceed the speed limit to minimize risks.
Booking an e-scooter involves using a smartphone app to locate and unlock nearby e-scooters. The app also provides information on available e-scooters and their charging status, ensuring a seamless user experience.
As e-scooters become more prevalent in urban environments, understanding safety regulations and following established guidelines are crucial for a smooth and secure riding experience.
