Electric bikes and scooters have been banned on the iconic Las Vegas Strip as Clark County officials voted on an ordinance to restrict these vehicles in the County’s resort corridor and establish new regulations for riders in the area. Parents or guardians will be held responsible for minors’ fines, while penalties of up to $600 may be imposed for reckless behavior like stunts, wheelies, and excessive speeds. Commissioner Justin Jones emphasized the importance of educating the public on these new guidelines before enforcement begins.
Despite the concerns raised by avid e-bike riders, who rely on these devices for transportation, the move was deemed necessary following a rise in fatalities from collisions involving bicycles and electric scooters in Las Vegas. Data from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department showed an increase in such fatalities in 2025 compared to the previous year.
