Hero MotoCorp is set to introduce more affordable electric scooters under its Vida brand, with plans to launch two new models as early as July this year. The company’s move to expand its electric two-wheeler lineup was disclosed during a recent earnings call for the fiscal year 2025.

The existing Vida brand currently offers the V2 electric scooter in three variants – V2 Lite, V2 Plus, and V2 Pro. The upcoming electric scooters are expected to be based on a new low-cost platform developed by Hero, known as ‘ACPD,’ which aims to bridge the gap between electric and traditional internal combustion engine models.

Reports indicate that Hero is currently producing around 7,000 electric scooters monthly, and the introduction of the new models is anticipated to boost production to approximately 15,000 units per month. The expansion of Hero’s electric vehicle range aligns with the growing trend towards sustainable mobility solutions in the automotive industry.

While specific details about the new electric scooters remain scarce, industry experts suggest that the upcoming models could cater to a wider consumer base by offering competitive pricing compared to existing offerings. Hero’s strategic focus on affordability and accessibility underscores the brand’s commitment to making electric mobility more mainstream.
Moreover, Hero’s aggressive expansion of its dealer network is a strategic move to enhance market reach and ensure widespread availability of its electric scooters. With 203 touchpoints, including 180 dealerships across 116 cities, Hero aims to strengthen its presence in key markets and make its electric vehicles more accessible to a broader audience.

The surge in sales of Hero’s electric two-wheelers in the fiscal year 2025 reflects a growing consumer interest in electric mobility solutions. The company’s sales volume witnessed a remarkable 175% year-on-year growth, indicating a shifting preference towards eco-friendly transportation options.

Competing in the electric two-wheeler segment against industry players like Ola Electric, Bajaj, Ather, TVS, and Ampere, Hero’s Vida range has established itself as a formidable contender in the market. The brand’s emphasis on innovation and affordability has resonated well with consumers seeking sustainable and cost-effective transportation alternatives.
The evolution of Hero’s electric scooter range not only reflects the brand’s commitment to technological advancement but also underscores the broader industry trend towards cleaner and greener mobility solutions. As electric vehicles gain traction globally, initiatives like Hero’s Vida brand contribute significantly to the transition towards a more sustainable transportation ecosystem.
