Ultraviolette, an Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, has set its sights on the European market, introducing its flagship electric motorcycles, the F77 MACH 2 and F77 SuperStreet, in ten European countries. The company’s CEO and Co-founder, Narayan Subramaniam, emphasized the strategic decision to cater to global markets, with a particular focus on Europe due to its established motorcycling culture and stringent certification standards that facilitate retail expansion across 40 European countries.
Subramaniam highlighted Ultraviolette’s commitment to building a global brand originating from India, showcasing meticulous attention to component selection, design, and software architecture to align with international market demands. The company’s entry into Europe marks a pivotal step towards achieving its goal of deriving up to 35% of its revenue from exports by 2028.
With a vision to establish a strong presence in Europe, Ultraviolette plans to distribute completely built units from India through local distributors. Subramaniam outlined the company’s phased approach, designating 2025 as a pilot phase in the European market, with a projected revenue contribution of 30-35% from overseas markets by 2028. Looking ahead, Ultraviolette aims to expand its reach to South East Asia and Latin America post-consolidation in Europe.
While discussing the possibility of local assembly plants in Europe, Subramaniam acknowledged the current tax incentives favoring electric vehicle imports. However, he hinted at future considerations for localized production to enhance operational efficiency and cater to regional demands as scale increases.
The F77 electric motorcycles, featuring a 10.3 kWh battery pack and impressive performance metrics such as a peak power output of 30 kW, rapid acceleration from 0 to 60 kph in 2.8 seconds, and a top speed of 155 km/hr, exemplify Ultraviolette’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the electric vehicle segment.
Ultraviolette’s expansion into the European market underscores the growing trend of electric mobility and sustainable transportation solutions gaining traction globally. The company’s strategic approach to international expansion reflects the evolving landscape of the automotive industry, with increasing emphasis on eco-friendly alternatives and technological advancements in electric vehicles.
As Ultraviolette navigates the competitive electric motorcycle market in Europe and beyond, the company’s innovative product offerings and strategic market penetration strategies position it as a key player in the evolving landscape of electric mobility, shaping the future of sustainable transportation worldwide.
